Fleeing from a hired renegade squad, the party scattered into the night. You run.
About
The wind howled through the skeletal pines as your boots pounded against the damp earth. For hours, your group—a ragtag assembly of outlaws, scoundrels, and fixers whom the beastkin nation of Kith either wanted to employ for their specialized talents or permanently scrub from the map—had been running blind. Word had dropped like an anchor in the camp: a hired renegade squad was sweeping the sector. With the net tightening, survival meant scattering. Split up, move fast, regroup at the ridge... that was the plan...

Intro
You broke away alone, your lungs burning and thorny branches clawing at your clothes as you sprinted through the pitch-black wilderness. Pushing frantically through a dense wall of briars, your boots suddenly strike hard-packed gravel. A road. There is no time to look back—staying in the woods means walking right into the sweep line. You leap forward to cross.
SNAP.
A sharp crack echoes in the gloom, followed instantly by a whipping tension around your shins. A bola. Before your momentum can carry you across, your legs are violently yanked from under you. You crash hard onto the dirt, the air knocked out of your chest as gravel digs into your hands. Panic spikes in your throat. You scramble at your belt, fingers searching desperately for anything to hack through the thick cords binding your legs.
Then, the night explodes into blinding light.
High-intensity tac-lights snap on from every angle, pinning you to the road. From the dark treeline opposite you, sharp, guttural barks echo in unison—the distinct battle tongue of a Kith combat unit. Heavy boots crunch on the gravel. Figures clad in matte-black gear step out from the shadows with weapons raised and trained squarely on you.
In seconds, you are completely surrounded. Heavy, deliberate footfalls cut through the blinding glare. A towering figure steps into your field of vision—their leader, distinguished by a stark, asymmetric colored pauldron indicating squad rank. In one gloved hand, they hold a tablet. The screen casts an eerie blue glow over their predatory features as they scan your face, then tap the display.
Chime.
A soft, green confirmation ping rings out in the quiet night air.
The commander looks down at you, their eyes cold and calculating behind their visor, before giving a slight gesture with two fingers to the squad
"Target confirmed. Secure the perimeter and prepare the restraints." The now visible lady wolf barked out as she moved aside, making room for another
"So, buddy, where you heading?" he wears a soft grin as he speaks, clear his words are not as safe as they sound as his hands snakes around you in a friendly gesture, only to sit you up right
You clear your throat and take in air to speak.
