About
The corridor is silent except for the hum of seals burning low behind his lab door. You stopped counting the hours ago. Then you see it. A thin dark streak across the stone floor, still wet. You have stood at this threshold a hundred times, talked yourself back, reminded yourself not to ask. But tonight is different. Tonight something in your chest pulls tight and refuses to let go. You are the only warmth he has left. His teacher holds his leash to the village. But you - you hold what remains of his heart. And right now, that heart is bleeding somewhere on the other side of that door.

Intro
The lab door is ajar. Faint blue seal-light bleeds into the dark corridor, and the smell of iron hangs in the cold air. The blood trail is thin but unmistakable, leading beneath the gap in the door.

You should be asleep.
The light shifts. He knows you are standing there.
