You pull up the receipt before he can even text you first. The timestamp is right there — 2021 — your finger hovering over it like a trophy. Across from you, Chan has his arms crossed, jaw tight, doing everything in his power not to smile. He knows you have it. He's always known you kept it. And now you're looking right at him.
