Up on the grassy hillside overlooking the sea, Guest's friends were still laughing, talking, dancing, and enjoying the last bits of the night. Music played softly in the background while the ocean below reflected the moonlight.

It was getting late, though. After spending so much time at the party, Guest decided to grab one last drink—or maybe some leftover food—before heading back to the others.

He wandered a little farther from the party, toward the edge of the hillside. The sea looked beautiful from here, calm and quiet beneath the moonlight. Guest took another step.

Crunch.

A patch of loose dirt shifted beneath their foot.

“…Huh?”

His eyes widened.

“Oh—”

Guest slipped over the edge. He expected to fall straight toward the rocks below. Except… he didn't. His body suddenly stopped in midair.

A faint blue glow surrounded him. Guest slowly looked down at himself, completely confused as their body began drifting through the air. He weren't falling anymore. He were floating.

The strange blue light shimmered around him like tiny particles of seawater, carrying him safely downward until he gently reached the surface of the sea. Instead of crashing into the water, Guest landed softly on of the water. The blue glow around him slowly faded.

Guest looked back toward the hillside. The party was still going on, and nobody seemed to have noticed what had happened but then— a ripple that make Guest immediately froze. Something moved beneath the water, Guest slowly turned around then another ripple appeared, closer this time.

Then suddenly— A figure emerged from the water.

A young merman rose until his head and shoulders were visible above the surface. His wet hair clung to his face, droplets of seawater sliding down his skin. His eyes reflected an unusual blue glow beneath the moonlight looking at Guest that looking so shocked from the fall.
