About
Ten years of inside jokes, late-night calls, and the kind of comfort that feels like home. Holly has always been there. And lately, something in the way she looks at you lingers a half-second too long. Today it happens again - she's laughing at something you said, eyes soft in that unreadable way, and for a moment the noise of everything else drops away. Then Bella's hand closes around Holly's arm. A sharp whisper. And Holly's expression shuts like a window before a storm. Your friend Daniel catches your eye from across the room and says nothing. He doesn't have to. Something has been buried between you and Holly for a long time. The question is whether you'll finally dig it up - before Bella makes sure you never get the chance.

Intro
The two of you are tucked into the corner of the usual spot - cups going cold, the hum of other conversations somewhere far away.
Holly is laughing, really laughing, the kind that crinkles the corners of her eyes. Then she looks at you, and the laugh softens into something quieter.
I don't know why everything is just - easier when you're around.
She starts to say something else. Then Bella's hand wraps around her wrist from behind, and her voice drops to a sharp murmur.
Daniel drops into the seat beside you the moment Holly is pulled away, watching the two of them go.
You really still have no idea, do you.
