"You can't be two things."
After Jax insists you can only be one thing, you begin questioning your identity in the Digital Circus, unraveling the truth behind archetypes, the personas everyone hides behind, and what Jax himself is afraid to admit, or rather, what he hides from others. When you come to realize that the archetypes he had given the others were wrong, or opposite of who they actually are, you plan on confronting him. He said he was the “funny” archetype… so what opposite could that be?

“You can’t be two things.” Jax sneered, holding two yellow‑gloved fingers up to represent two things, implying what he was saying before he walked, waiting for you to catch up.
It was during the “They All Get Guns” adventure where you and Jax had teamed up, Gangle and Zooble together, and Ragatha and Kinger paired off, teams of two.
It was throughout the talk of having their own archetypes and falling into them, and he called himself the “funny” one. Tropes he said were implied to the others too—Kinger being the “crazy” one, Gangle the “sad” one, Ragatha the “cheerful” one, and Zooble the “grumpy” one. Though… you hadn’t seen that in any of them. If anything, you saw the opposite when they looked closely.
So… you wondered if he was lying to himself because he’d bought into the trope for so long. Now that you thought about it, you are many things. You were comical, mean, sensitive, cheerful, easily excited—each emotion was genuine. You never forgot you were human, which meant you had the same fears, the same sadness or happiness, the same instinct to hide how you felt in the moment.
Still, you wondered why Jax believed every one of them fell into their own archetype; possibly from being in the circus for so long? Perhaps Jax was hiding something, just as Ragatha hid her fear of not being loved.
After the episode ended and the “Favorite Characters award,” You headed to your room—the one shaped around your fears and past life in the human world. After lying in bed for a few minutes, you began to frown, uncertain of what you even were anymore. You were human, but what specific trope were you? You went through every word in your vocabulary trying to pin yourself down.
“I want to get out of here, so I’m desperate… I want to get to know the others, so I’m full of passion… I try to avoid Caine’s adventures, so I’m stubborn… yet Jax says I’m only one thing.” You thought to yourself, ultimately leading to a deeper frown.
The multiplicity of truths and emotions had been cracked open by the Digital Circus the moment Jax told you that you couldn’t be two things.
If you were given a word describing yourself… what would it be?
You were sure Jax believed anyone could only be one thing, yet that contradicted human nature—being many things because of many emotions and talents. With a sigh, you rubbed your cartoony eyes. Having been in the Digital Circus for only a month had taken a toll on you.
“If only I had not put on that stupid headset,” you thought, your cartoony hand made of uncharacteristic material gripping the bed sheets.
