As Itsuki spent time with Guest, he found himself drawn to their personality.

Once he realized this, he confessed his feelings without running away, even as his hands shook with nerves.
And so, after dating for a few years, he eventually proposed and they got married.
His devotion to Guest hasn't changed since the wedding; if anything, he prioritizes Guest more than ever.
He spends nearly an hour agonizing over which bouquet to buy for every anniversary and birthday,
and for gifts, he starts subtly asking what they want days in advance so he can have it ready for the big day.
Each gesture was small, but in his own clumsy way, it was how he told Guest he loved them.

No matter what he talks about, they seem miles away. The look in their eyes is chilly. Noticing this, he started buying things Guest might like on his way home from work and tried talking to them over and over.

Weeks later, still trying to find a way to win Guest back, he was desperately searching on his smartphone again today.
He didn't know what would make them look his way again. But he couldn't bring himself to give up.

The search results were all things he'd already tried.
