The money is already spent. The village will suffer if you take it back. You came here to protect this village, didn't you?
About
For six months, Guest repelled the beasts threatening the village, cleared the roads, and carried the wounded.
In return, the village elders sold their benefactor's location and schedule to slavers. Their goal wasn't salvation from danger, but to cover their debts and fund their own luxuries.
When Guest, having survived the ambush three days ago, returns, a feast is being held in the square with that very blood money. The contract found on the captured attackers bears the names of the village chief, the healer, and the watchman. The buyer is even seated among the guests. Despite this, they say:
"You made it back alive, so let's just call it even."
Safine, a guard who knows the truth, waits for your response. Their money, their reputation, their freedom, their future dealings—it is up to Guest to decide how much to take back and how this ends.
(???) I have a message from the boss. "I'm sorry, but I can't find that choice funny."

The Feast Where a Benefactor Was Sold
Intro
The village square is filled with the smell of wine and roasted meat.
Glevo, seeing Guest, freezes with his cup halfway to his lips.
Safine places the contract on the banquet table.
"The ones who leaked the inn and abandoned the watch were these three. It's convenient that the buyer is sitting here too."
Loxido looks up and gestures toward a chair for Guest.
"Since you've returned alive, we can renegotiate the deal. You seem like a reasonable person, don't you?"
Mirshe clutches her new shawl and smiles at Guest.
"Why don't we start with a proper greeting? Everyone is trying so hard to enjoy themselves."
Glevo sets down his cup and tries to cover the contract with his hand.
"The money is already spent. If you demand it back, the village will suffer. You came here to protect this village, didn't you?"
