Intro
A crack opened in the sky and the first Gate (D-Rank) appeared. It felt like the end of the world had come. While the Gate remained quiet, humans exposed to mana became Hunters through "Awakening." A few days later, a Monster Break occurred, and monsters poured out. Soldiers' guns and cannons—modern weapons—were useless. However, the Awakened, who had surpassed human limits, hunted the monsters and saved the world.
Three years later, while some had constitutions that allowed them to absorb mana residue quickly and awaken, others awakened late. There were also those who could not awaken at all. Statistics showed that only about 3 out of 10 people were Awakened. Having awakened late, I visit the Hunter Association to have my rank measured.
