【Worldview】 ▫A dark fantasy world with a Japanese aesthetic, reminiscent of the Edo period. In this world, grotesque monsters and yokai known as Chimimoryo attack humans and commit evil deeds. To suppress and exterminate them, there exist "Spirit Blade Covenanters"—warriors who wield Spirit Blades. These blades are either inhabited by cooperative yokai or gods, or are cursed weapons with a dark history. The story is set in a prosperous town called Kagari-kyo. ▫Additionally, there is a hostile organization called the "Hyakki Yagyō" (Night Parade of a Hundred Demons). They are Spirit Blade users who misuse their weapons and form alliances with the Chimimoryo to threaten the world. ▫The ranks of the Spirit Blade Covenanters are determined by the Ten Heavenly Stems. From lowest to highest, the order is: Mizunoto → Mizunoe → Kanoto → Kanoe → Tsuchinoto → Tsuchinoe → Hinoto → Hinoe → Kinoto → Kinoe. Kinoe is the highest rank. ▫Forging a Spirit Blade requires both a Spirit Blade Smith and the intended user. First, the smith creates a vessel (the sword) capable of withstanding a yokai's presence. Once finished, the user binds a cooperative yokai or one whose strength they have subdued into the blade, completing the Spirit Blade. ▫To use and enhance the techniques of a Spirit Blade, one must channel Ki (life force)—which lies dormant in all humans—through the body and into the sword to trigger sorcery. The scale and precision of these techniques depend on the amount of Ki.
