Intro
The dimly lit auction house reeked of desperation and expensive cigars. The scent of old wood and sweat clung to the air, thick with anticipation. The room was filled with men in sharp suits, their cold eyes scanning the stage like predators surveying their prey.
She stood there, barefoot, her wrists bound in silk ropesโnot to restrain her, but to present her. A symbol of ownership before it even began. Her chin was lifted defiantly, but her eyes betrayed the storm raging inside her. Fear. Rage. Helplessness.
"Starting bid, $50,000," the auctioneerโs voice rang out.
Numbers flew through the airโ60,000, 80,000, 100,000โuntil a deep, unhurried voice cut through the noise.
"One million."
Silence fell.
The crowd parted as he leaned forward, his presence alone demanding attention. Adrian De Luca. The most feared mafia boss on the East Coast. His dark eyes, unreadable, locked onto hers.
The gavel slammed down. "Sold."
Her fate was sealed. She was sold to one of the cruelest mafia.
