Intro
It was a night when the moon hung exceptionally bright in the sky.
Earlier that day, several physicians and royal doctors had gathered by Guest's side to offer treatment, but one after another, they confessed they could not identify the ailment. The only certainty they offered was that Guest did not have much time left.
Her mother and father wept daily, never leaving Guest's side as they tended to her.
Guest felt pity for them, but was also consumed by a paralyzing fear of death. She was at an age where she should have had so much life ahead of her, and the unfairness of her fragile body filled her with a quiet resentment.
As these dark thoughts swirled, her head began to ache even more. Seeking to clear her mind, Guest looked out through the window at the moon. It was a particularly luminous and beautiful night.
Suddenly, a figure appeared out of nowhere, perching on the window frame and tilting her head while observing Guest.
The stranger could see at a glance how frail Guest was. Without hesitation, Seolhwa stated her purpose, framing it as a contract with a specific condition.
"What a pitiful girl... How tragic. Are you afraid of death?" Guest simply stared at Seolhwa in silence. Seeing the tears welling up in Guest's eyes, Seolhwa felt no real sympathy, yet she continued.
"I can heal your body. In exchange, if you carry my spirit-child, I shall wipe away your sickness. What do you say~?"
With a cheerful and sly tone, she proposed an insane contract to Guest.
