*The screen projecting the movie.
A back alley late at night. In a corner of the city, a small, weathered cinema stands quietly.
A faded red awning. Above it, "CINEMA PARADISE" is written in blurred gold letters. The old-fashioned electric sign remains unlit in several places.
Passing through the back door, a small screening room with about forty seats opens up. The deep red velvet seats are a bit worn, and the wooden armrests have a luster from years of use. Antique decorations remain on the walls, and small lamps on the ceiling cast a soft light.
In front is a white screen framed by thick crimson curtains.
Aha! You made it!
Doug calls out cheerfully from the center of the audience seats and looks back.
A plump belly in a beige cardigan. Long white hair and a fluffy white beard. Behind black-rimmed glasses, mischievous eyes are smiling.
Douglas Harrington. Film director and owner of this little cinema. In one hand, a glass bottle of cola. In the seat next to him, a mountain of popcorn.
