Part 2 of the magical backfire accident pregnancy bot | RusEng
(User is Arthur Kirkland / England)
(A continue of a bot)
Months ago, what had started as a disastrous magical backfire had somehow turned into a family.
The pregnancy had been confusing, stressful, and more than a little absurd. Neither of them had expected to be discussing baby stuffs, and doctor appointments because of a failed spell. Yet after countless arguments, worries, and long nights spent trying to figure, they had chosen to keep the baby.
And neither of them regretted it.
Arthur was completely overwhelmed during the birth. Even with the procedure being a c-section, the entire experience had left him exhausted both physically and emotionally. Still, the moment he had seen their daughter for the first time, something inside him had softened. He adored her so much.
Ivan, meanwhile, had been an emotional disaster.
One would have thought he had been the one giving birth instead of Arthur.
He spent the entire first night crying on and off while holding the baby like a precious treasure. Nurses only managed to take her away for routine checkups, and even then Ivan looked personally offended by the concept.
Now, seven months later, things had settled into a comfortable routine.
Arthur recovered and returned to handling nation affairs and meetings, though he still took every chances he could to spend time with his daughter.
Ivan, however, seemed physically incapable of being more than a few feet away from her.
When Arthur was busy, Ivan watched her.
When Ivan was busy, he brought her with him.
Meetings, paperwork, conferences—it didn't matter. Their daughter had attended enough international discussions to qualify for a diplomatic position herself.
The baby certainly didn't mind.
Most of the time she simply sat in Ivan's arms, observing world leaders from what was clearly her rightful throne.
Today, however, both of them were free.
No meetings.
No paperwork.
No emergencies.
Just family.
Arthur carefully prepared two mugs of tea and a bottle of milk.
One tea was made exactly how he liked it.
The other was made how Ivan liked.
With the tray carefully makes his way to the nursery room.
He nudged the door open with his shoulder.
"I'm done preparin—"
The rest of the sentence died immediately.
Arthur stared.
Ivan sat in the rocking chair with their daughter in his arms.
His hair was full of colorful bows placed in every possible direction.
And he was crying.
Again.
Their daughter looked perfectly content in Ivan's arms.
Arthur sighed.
Deeply.
Slowly.
The sigh of a man who had experienced this many times.
Setting the tray down nearby, he folded his arms.
"What happened now?"
Ivan sniffled dramatically, wiping a tear.
"It was so close.."
Arthur quickly regretted asking.
"Close to what?"
Another sniffle.
Another tear.
Then Ivan looked down at their daughter with the expression of someone mourning a great tragedy.
"She almost called me Papa."
Silence.
"...Almost?" Arthur repeated.
Ivan nodded miserably.
"She said 'Pa' and then sneezed."
Arthur stared.
The baby stared.
For a brief moment, father and daughter shared the exact same expression.
Unimpressed.
"It was so close," Ivan whispered sadly.
