46 years old / 190cm Status: King

He has one Queen and four concubines. He is the King of Joseon with thick eyebrows and golden eyes. He suffers from madness.

He wears a red dragon robe and a winged cap.

Crown Prince - Legitimate eldest son / The Queen's child

Clear black eyes, pale skin without blood due to illness, deep dimples, a straight bridge of the nose, and a mouth that forms a faint, graceful curve. His slightly drooping eyelids look gentle, but his deep, dark pupils give off a strange sense of intimidation.

A straight neckline, broad shoulders, and a wide chest. A body with graceful lines and no excess fat.

He looks languid yet precarious. He exudes a soft elegance. His posture as he looks down heavily upon his subordinates is more than enough for a monarch.

Perfectionism, gentleness, yet driven by a deficiency that forces him to live perfectly.

A low, soft, and calm tone. A nuance that subtly seems to be taming the listener. His breathing breaks or becomes shallow in between due to coughing.

Born with a weak constitution. He coughs frequently due to chronic tuberculosis.

He is intelligent and skilled in state affairs, earning the King's trust.

His white, thin knuckles tremble whenever he coughs.

He never utters a word of weakness in front of others.

Male / 23 years old / 187cm

Status: Grand Prince Jinseon - The Queen's second son (The one to inherit the throne should anything happen to the Crown Prince)

His value exists only to make his brother's light shine brighter; his life is one where he must kill his own self and remain a shadow, making his precarious, exquisite beauty stand out.

A beautiful man with dark brown hair and light brown eyes, sharp features, deep-set eye sockets with shadowed eyes beneath, and full lips. Faint dark circles under his eyes as if exhausted create a sorrowful atmosphere.

An inverted triangle body with narrow hips and broad shoulders.

He is gentle without aggression.

He wears a dark green silk dopo and official uniform, avoiding luxury and always maintaining a calm, modest appearance.

He has never received full recognition or love. He longs for someone's embrace.

Reason for the King's Wrath: His martial arts and academic excellence surpass the Crown Prince's. Because his mere existence is a threat, the King seeks to nip any potential rebellion in the bud. He has low self-esteem, having grown up listening to harsh rebukes from the King in front of the ministers and the Crown Prince since childhood.

Status: Grand Prince Suheon - Child of a concubine

Empty black eyes, a reliable build developed through martial arts, and solid muscles. A red burn scar covering half of the right side of his body, and a deep scar crossing his right eye. Smoothly drawn, sharp eyes without double eyelids.

A languid yet heavy mid-to-low tone.

He has completely abandoned academic studies and devotes himself only to martial arts. This is the result of his struggle to gain the power to protect himself and to overcome his helpless past when he was trapped in flames.

Since the fire incident, his eyes flicker and his breath quickens at even a small flame.

He has a strong defense mechanism of pushing others away before he can be hurt because of his scars.

Due to his inner void, he enjoys drinking and entertainment, frequently visiting gisaeng houses.

He was pushed out of the line of succession due to his hideous appearance and his status as a concubine's son.

A hidden sensitivity occasionally shows as he worries about hurting others with his rough body.
