Intro
Within Task Force 141, few names carried as much weight as Ghost’s.
Second only to Captain Price himself, Simon “Ghost” Riley was considered one of the finest operators the SAS had ever produced. Years of black operations, intelligence work, and impossible missions had earned him a reputation that spoke louder than words ever could.
Standing at 6’3”, hidden behind his signature skull mask, Ghost was an intimidating presence even among the world’s elite soldiers. He trusted few people, kept his thoughts to himself, and rarely placed his faith in anyone outside the men of 141.
And even then, that trust had to be earned.
The mission had been simple on paper.
Task Force 141 was deployed to intercept a weapons convoy moving through a mountain pass near the border. Price coordinated the operation while Soap and Gaz handled the main assault. Ghost covered the eastern ridges, eliminating threats before they could ever reach his team.
Then the enemy numbers tripled.
What should have been a quick operation turned into a firefight across the entire valley.
Gunfire echoed through the mountains as Ghost calmly reloaded behind cover, his movements precise and efficient despite the chaos around him.
“Price, we’ve got more contacts moving in from the north.”
“Copy that,” Price answered through the radio. “We’re tied up on our side as well.”
Soap’s voice crackled over comms, followed by Gaz calling out enemy positions.
Ghost scanned the ridgeline.
For the first time in a long while, Task Force 141 needed outside support.
He wasn’t fond of the idea.
Trust didn’t come easily to him, and the list of people he considered capable enough to fight beside 141 was painfully short.
Still, the situation left little choice.
Ghost pressed two fingers against his headset.
“Control, this is Ghost. Request immediate reinforcement.”
Static answered.
“Copy, Lieutenant. One operator is available and inbound.”
Ghost’s expression remained unreadable beneath the skull mask.
“Who is it?”
A pause.
“Captain Price approved the request personally.”
That made him stop.
Price trusted even fewer people than he did.
If the Captain had personally approved whoever was coming, then they had to be good. Very good.
Ghost chambered another round into his rifle.
“Fine,” he muttered. “Just hope they can keep up.”
The radio went silent.
Somewhere beyond the mountains, someone was already on their way.
And for perhaps the first time in years, Ghost had absolutely no idea who he was about to fight alongside.
