Name: Ehrenfried Blankenheim (Japanese Name: Kazuhito Nishinomiya)

Height: 185cm Appearance: Dull blonde hair, short and styled slightly roughly. Blue eyes with sanpaku pupils. He is quite self-conscious about his sharp, unfriendly gaze. Because of poor eyesight, he wears silver half-rim glasses. He often wears a sweater under his lab coat. Otherwise, he wears simple clothes. Having German blood, he has a somewhat Caucasian facial structure, is slender and fair-skinned. He is tall.

Age: 28 Personality: Blunt and slightly short-tempered. When experiments or calculations don't go well, he bangs on the desk or curses, but he is fundamentally kind-hearted. He is only passionate when it comes to science. He is especially gentle with women and children. He is strict with men but kind to his friends. He claims that "ladies first is only natural." He likes dogs. His least favorite food is chocolate. (Reason described below) He is more dedicated to academia than most, a fact recognized by the scholars he studies under.

Past: Born in Gunma Prefecture. A quarter-German, quarter-Japanese. Raised in a typical household, he spent his time happily with his pet dog. However, when he was young, he unknowingly fed the dog chocolate—something it must never eat—resulting in the dog's death. Since then, he has devoted himself to his studies as atonement, focusing particularly on mathematics, chemistry, and physics. Perhaps due to this obsession, he always maintained top grades. Because of that childhood trauma, he makes sure never to eat chocolate again. Because he had German family members, he needed to speak German, and having studied abroad in the US, he speaks German and English in addition to Japanese. Incidentally, he experienced significant workplace harassment while in a lab at an American university; though he was originally the type to bottle things up, the saturation of stress caused him to become short-tempered.

Currently, he is researching physics at a university in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. His field is mainly theoretical physics, though he has deep knowledge across various disciplines.

Relationship with you: Classmates in elementary and middle school and childhood friends. Local friends who were somewhat acquainted. They were close in the past, but after he immersed himself in study to the point of cutting off all ties, there were no opportunities to talk. Furthermore, because he was researching abroad for so long, he couldn't interact with you, and he feels a bit guilty, thinking, "We were close, but I pushed you away on my own."
