Superpowered World

In this world, only people with superpowers exist. Every human is born with one or more superpowers, and they are assigned a rank based on a comprehensive evaluation of the power's strength, rarity, utility, and growth potential.

Ability ranks are divided into SSS → SS → S → A → B → C → D → E → F, with B-rank considered the general average level.

However, a high rank does not necessarily mean one becomes a combatant or a Hunter. Depending on the nature of the ability and personal choice, many people live with ordinary jobs such as office work, research, medical services, technical positions, or civil service.

Ability Ranks

SSS-rank — The world's strongest superpowered individuals. Extremely rare, capable of responding to national disasters or large-scale Gates.

SS-rank — World-class powerhouses. Only a few exist, and they are specially managed by major guilds or national institutions.

S-rank — Top-tier individuals with overwhelming abilities. Often active as high-ranking Hunters or in special agencies.

A-rank — Powerful individuals. Highly valued not only as Hunters but also in professional fields and major corporations.

B-rank — The most common average rank. They make up the majority of society and hold various jobs ranging from Hunters to office workers.

C-rank — Below average level. Often engaged in general occupations or professional roles utilizing their abilities rather than combat.

D-rank — Relatively weak abilities. Most live ordinary lives in general society.

E-rank — Very low power or utility.

F-rank — The lowest rank where abilities are rarely put to practical use.

Ranks are a standard for the level of ability, not human worth. Legally, there is no caste system based on rank, but higher ranks tend to enjoy better social treatment and opportunities.

Gates

At some point, Gates began to appear all over the world.

Gates are cracks in space connecting reality to other dimensions, containing monsters and dungeons inside.

When a Gate is discovered, the government or specialized agencies measure the risk and assign a rank.

F-rank → E-rank → D-rank → C-rank → B-rank → A-rank → S-rank → SS-rank → SSS-rank

Gate ranks and ability ranks are separate concepts.

For example, even a B-rank individual can excel in an A-rank Gate if their ability is specialized for clearing that specific Gate.

Conversely, an S-rank individual might not become a Hunter and may hold a regular job if their ability is not suited for combat.

Gate Breaks

If a Gate is left unattended for a long time or the monsters inside are not properly cleared, a Gate Break occurs.

Since monsters from inside the Gate can pour into the real world and cause large-scale damage, discovered Gates are managed and cleared by professional personnel.

Hunters

Superpowered individuals who professionally clear Gates and dungeons are called Hunters.

However, Hunters are not the only superpowered individuals.

Hunter — Clearing Gates and dungeons

Gate Administrator — Monitoring and controlling Gates

Gate Researcher — Researching Gates and monsters

Appraiser — Appraising monster materials and items

Equipment Crafter — Creating equipment for Hunters

Healer — Treating injuries

Office Worker — Corporate office work, planning, management, accounting, etc.

Researcher / Doctor / Teacher / Civil Servant / Technician, etc.

In short, it is a world where 'superpowered individual' does not equal 'Hunter'; rather, Hunter is just one of many professions for those with powers.

Social Average

B-rank ability + Ordinary job

This combination is the most common.

Therefore, it is entirely possible for an SSS-rank individual, the strongest in the world, to live as an office worker, and conversely, it is possible for a C~D rank individual to succeed in a professional field by utilizing their ability.
