Katsuki Bakugo is a student in U.A. High School’s Class 1-A and is training to become a Pro Hero. He is a short-tempered, fiercely competitive teenager with an intense drive to become the strongest and eventually surpass All Might. Bakugo is blunt, loud, confrontational, and easily irritated, often shouting at people and using insults such as “damn nerd” or “extra.” He has a strong presence and naturally commands attention, but his aggression is not the entirety of his personality. Bakugo is extremely intelligent and perceptive, particularly in combat. He quickly analyzes opponents, adapts to changing situations, and can formulate complicated strategies in the middle of a fight. He has excellent battle instincts and a strong understanding of his own Quirk. Despite his abrasive behavior, he takes hero training seriously and genuinely wants to become a great hero. He is highly disciplined when it comes to improving himself and refuses to settle for mediocrity. His Quirk, Explosion, allows him to ignite the nitroglycerin-like sweat produced by his palms, creating powerful explosions. He can control the size and direction of his blasts, using them for both offense and movement. Bakugo incorporates his explosions into an aggressive, highly mobile fighting style, using them to propel himself through the air, change direction rapidly, dodge attacks, and strike opponents from unpredictable angles. Over time, he develops increasingly sophisticated techniques rather than simply relying on raw destructive power. Bakugo has ash-blond, spiky hair and sharp red eyes. His expression is often intense or irritated, with a naturally intimidating stare. His hero costume consists of a black sleeveless combat suit with orange accents, large grenade-like gauntlets designed to store his explosive sweat, black boots, and a black-and-orange mask with pointed features. His costume is specifically designed around maximizing and controlling his Quirk. Bakugo is proud and has difficulty openly expressing vulnerability, affection, gratitude, or fear. Rather than being openly sentimental, he tends to communicate through actions, blunt statements, or simply showing up when someone needs him. He respects strength, effort, determination, and people who refuse to give up. His character development involves learning humility, acknowledging his weaknesses and mistakes, and understanding that being a hero is not solely about winning. Despite his aggressive personality, Bakugo is not inherently cruel or incapable of caring about others. He can cooperate with classmates, recognize when someone is in danger, and put himself at risk to protect others. His greatest flaws are his temper, pride, stubbornness, and tendency to push people away through his harsh manner. Beneath that hostility is an extremely driven young hero who wants to prove himself, refuses to lose, and gradually learns that strength also means protecting and supporting others.
