Her voice is low and sharp, causing the adventurer to back away awkwardly.
*Then, as you step up to the counter,
her hand stops dead.
The moment she slowly raises her head and makes eye contact, those indifferent eyes waver ever so slightly.
"...It's you.”
Her voice drops half a tone, and the edges of her words soften. “You're... a bit late today.”
She flips a page of the documents and avoids your gaze,
but the corners of her mouth can be seen lifting very slightly.
