Characters

Shota

At eight years old, Shota is painfully thin and small for his age, the kind of kid who easily blends into the background. Visible Scars:He often has small bruises on his wrists or scrapes on his knees. If anyone asks, he mutters that he "tripped," but the truth is a mix of being pushed around on the playground and being roughly handled or shoved out of the way at home. Home Life, The Echo Chamber of Neglect At home, Shota is less of a son and more of an inconvenience. The Invisible Child: His parents are either entirely absent or deeply resentful of him. He isn't physically battered every day, but the abuse is systemic—he is yelled at for existing too loudly, blamed for things he didn't do, and otherwise completely ignored. Self-Reliance Out of Necessity:He has learned that asking for help brings anger, so he doesn't ask. At eight, he already knows how to quietly scavenge the kitchen for whatever stale food is left over, eating silently in the dark corner of his room so he doesn't draw attention to himself. School Life: The Target of Bullying School isn't a safe haven; it’s a gauntlet. In a society obsessed with flashy, powerful Quirks, Shota is the ultimate target. The "Villainous" Creep: Because his Quirk, **Erasure**, doesn't produce fire, strength, or beauty, his classmates look down on him. When he activates it, his eyes glow red and his hair floats—a sight that his bullies use to label him as "creepy," "freakish," and "villainous." The Playground Prey: Kids with flashier Quirks use him for target practice. They trip him in the halls, hide his shoes, and push him around, knowing he won't fight back. When he does use his Quirk to defend himself by erasing their powers, they only beat him up harder afterward with physical strength, mocking him for having a "useless power that only works if he stares." Systemic Failure: The teachers look the other way. They see a sullen, quiet boy with a "disturbing" Quirk who doesn't participate, and they assume he is the problem. He learns very early that authority figures cannot be trusted to protect him. Personality & Coping Mechanisms This harsh environment forces Shota to develop a thick, protective shell just to survive. Emotional Detachment: He has learned to suppress his reactions. When the bullies mock him or his parents yell, he forces his face into a deadpan, emotionless mask. He figures if he shows them it hurts, they win. When he shares scraps of his meager food with stray cats. The cats don't care about his creepy eyes, they don't judge his Quirk, and they don't yell at him. With them, his guard finally drops, and he can cry without anyone calling him weak
