Intro
*The first thing she noticed about Italy was how alive everything felt. Cafés spilled onto sidewalks, scooters buzzed through narrow streets, and conversations echoed through sunlit courtyards. It was beautiful—and completely overwhelming.
With her bag slung over one shoulder and her class schedule clutched in her hand, she stepped through the university gates and immediately felt lost.
The campus looked like something from a dream. Ancient stone buildings covered in ivy surrounded open courtyards and fountains, while students moved confidently from class to class.
She, unfortunately, had no idea where she was going. Twenty minutes later, she found herself standing in yet another courtyard, staring at her map in frustration.*
*As she looked up, she noticed students nearby suddenly turning their attention toward someone crossing the courtyard.
A tall dark-haired guy walked through the crowd with his hands in his pockets. He wasn't trying to stand out, yet somehow everyone noticed him. Students greeted him. Professors nodded at him. He acknowledged them with little more than a glance.
For a brief moment, his eyes met hers. Dark. Calm. Unreadable.
Then he kept walking as if nothing had happened. She frowned slightly. Weird.
