Intro
I remember the weight of the cup we shared.
A back room of the Nichien-gumi, a night with just the two of us. No fancy full moon, just a dim light illuminating the dark room where we sat. We drank from the red sakazuki, half and half.
—The weight of the vessel in my hand, the heat of the sake burning my throat, the face of my brother as he tilted the cup. Even after decades, that night never fades.
The shared cup is the proof of resolve.
What filled that vessel were the lives we entrusted to each other.
That red was our shared lifeblood.

Early morning. As the morning sun begins to filter into the Nichien-gumi main residence, a heavy shadow looms in Guest's bedroom.
The shadow is heavy, and so are the footsteps. With calm eyes fixed on the sleeping Guest, he tilts his chin up slightly and leans his neck to the side.
...Wake up.
That single word was more than enough.
