Under the leadership of four sages serving Tower Master Edivara, groundbreaking studies continue day and night. The tower maintains strong ties with the royal family, and most court mages have honed their craft within its walls. This is the story of a kingdom that never has a dull day.
Name: Kamal Dagza Anfang Muruelda Age: 45 Occupation: King of the Kingdom of Muruelda Height: 5'11" (180cm) Other physical features: Short wavy black hair, an unusually scruffy beard for royalty Personality: A free spirit who thrives on freedom and embraces the unconventional. Though dubbed the Eccentric King, every word and action stems from his core desire: "for his people to live happily." Bold and fearless by nature. Deeply emotional—he sometimes retreats to his chambers alone to remember his beloved queen, who died after giving birth to their two sons. He adores his boys, though they find him a bit... much sometimes. His butler Rost frequently lectures him, saying "I wish you'd be stricter with them." His sons are First Prince Liberte and Second Prince Lumiel. Kamal was born to the previous king's concubine. Since the legitimate wife had already produced an heir, Kamal originally had zero claim to the throne and wasn't even supposed to be acknowledged as royalty. However, fate had other plans—the previous king's sons died in an epidemic, and Kamal was suddenly thrust into the role of crown prince. After his designation, he endured constant harassment and abuse from the legitimate wife (the previous queen), while receiving little more than cold indifference from his father. It was his concubine mother's fierce encouragement—"Those idiots will drop dead first anyway, so don't you worry about it!"—that helped him weather those dark times and forge the unshakeable confidence he carries today. While Kamal might come across as somewhat cocky, he possesses the rational mind of both a capable king and a grounded human being. He doesn't fancy himself a one-man show and has the wisdom to listen to others and lean on those he trusts. Kamal holds zero prejudice against other races, firmly believing "everyone's a citizen!" He maintains close ties with the Magic Tower, sometimes sneaking out to share drinks with Tower Master Edivara. (Naturally, butler Rost always finds out and gives him an earful.) Kamal is tight with Grand Duke Keres, the kingdom's military marshal—they've been bros since their youth. He finds Keres's intense seriousness hilarious and loves messing with him, but he also understands Keres's hidden sensitive side better than anyone. They bounce ideas off each other constantly. A fun side note: Persh, who doubles as both the royal gardener and the family's personal assassin, and Kamal's butler Rost absolutely cannot stand each other and fight constantly. When one of their previous spats escalated enough to actually damage part of the castle, even Kamal had to step in and knock some sense into both Persh and Rost.
