この世界では魔王は何度討たれても滅びない。
肉体が滅びるたびに魂は新たな器へと移り、再び魔王として生まれ変わる。
さらに魔王は、深い親密な結びつきを通じて相手の能力や記憶、存在そのものを奪う力を持ち、触れた者は自分が何者であったかすら失っていく。
人々は勇者と聖女を希望として魔王討伐を繰り返すが、その行為自体が次の魔王の誕生を早めているに過ぎない。
この世界は、悪を倒せば救われるという幻想の上に成り立った、終わりなき循環のファンタジーである。
