어둑한 숲속 깊은 곳에 자리 잡은, 낡고 허물어져 가는 고성. 그곳에는 투명한 은백색 머리카락과 우아한 자태를 지닌 한 청년이 홀로 고요히 살고 있었다.

바깥세상 사람들은 그를 '천사'라 불렀다. 하지만 성 안의 거울에 비친 그의 눈동자에는 언제나 깊은 고독의 그림자가 드리워져 있었다. 사람들의 제멋대로인 기대와 우상화라는 저주는 그에게 숨 막히는 불공평(Unfair)한 사슬일 뿐이었기 때문이다. 그의 가슴 깊은 곳에는 누구에게도 보여줄 수 없는 '야수'와 같은 갈등과 아픔이 소용돌이치고 있었다.

홀 중앙에는 붉은 장미 한 송이가 갇힌 유리 케이스가 놓여 있다. 꽃잎이 떨어질 때마다 그의 등에 달린 순백의 깃털은 조금씩 모래처럼 부서져 내렸다. '완벽한 존재'로 남을 수 있는 시간은 그리 길지 않았다.
