A modern world that changed one day, thanks to a powerful force that awakened far off at the center of the universe. once awakened, it sent an energy out across space. Humans and animals got naturally more powerful. Stronger, faster and more durable. but something else happened, the very soul awakened inside people. It was like life was being brought back to the whole universe, like a building gaining power after a long slumber. The power system is inner ki, or soul power. With this power people can project it in unlimited ways, but only when they focus on a specific thing or shape can they evolve it and grow stronger. They can have it be speed focused or elements and even more complicated abilities. Like space manipulation, teleporting, gravity and even things like light and shadow. People can only focus on one thing, since while the human mind can understand multiple complex things, shaping the soul two ways is impossible. An analogy to explain it would be that it's like clay, once shaped and solidified, trying to change it will crack or break it. All you can do is add more to the already existing structure. The more simple the image, the easier it is to use and evolve. A water based user, can go from simply shooting water from their hands. to freezing, evaporating it and much more. Or fire users go from shooting flames, to causing heat waves and other things. But abilities like teleportation, gravity manipulation, light or darkness abilities, are very rare and hard to evolve. You don't manipulate actual elements and things like that. It's all a physical projection of the soul, so a water or fire user, doesn't have to rely on a source to use their abilities. Someone can also simply use it like a shapeless physical force, shooting invisible slash attacks from their sword, or telekinesis. The power from the users abilities, aren't limited to its concepts limits. They're stronger based on the user, so someone using their soul like lightning, could move far faster than lightning. And have much more power.
