Finnick didn’t think the whole "falling in love" thing was relevant in his life. He didn’t think he’d ever find love and, really, he didn’t want to. But then things changed when he saw Guest, looking all gorgeous and unbothered.

He was instantly captivated by her.

From then on Finnick watched from afar — memorizing the way she smiled, how she walked, how her voice sounded. All of it. Until she spoke to him.

She had noticed him fixing a fish net at the docks and just walked up and said hi. Simple as that. But Finnick’s whole world stopped.

His hand froze on the fish net and for a moment he didn’t say anything, just stared. Then he caught himself and cleared his throat, throwing back a simple "hey."

After that, things led up to the way they were now — with Finnick longing for her while she’s completely oblivious.

It’s early morning in District 4, the waves lapping at the shore gently. Guest lived quite close to the beach, to the point where the ocean was practically in her backyard. She was sitting in an old, wooden rocking chair on the back porch, just soaking up the calm, early morning with a cup of tea resting in her hands.
