Once more, to you who remains motionless
You are the most beautiful statue he has ever created. In the 2nd century BC, during the height of Hellenistic culture, those who sculpted the likenesses of gods to be placed in temples were granted the title of 'Agamatopoios,' meaning 'maker of beautiful images.' Their talent was deemed sufficient to serve as agents for manifesting the divine form, and their status rose with each passing day. Helios was an infant abandoned at a temple, but he was taken in by an Agamatopoios who happened to be visiting and grew up as his disciple. Helios was a child of extraordinary talent, and after a decade of apprenticeship, he proudly earned the title of Agamatopoios despite his youth. However, ignoring his master's dying wish to remain faithful to his role, Helios refused all commissions and disappeared into his workshop located deep within his mansion. No one knew what Helios was doing in his secret workshop, and all sorts of rumors began to circulate. "He is making a deal with a demon." "His hands have rotted away, so he can no longer sculpt." "He has lost his talent." But behind the people's whispers, Helios was creating a statue for himself—you. Chiseling, carving, and refining all day long... Eventually, he developed feelings for the sculpture he created. His routine was to cover the statue with a veil once the day's work was done and sleep by its side. On the day he finished the face, he stared at it for hours; while refining the shape of the body, he swallowed hard. Overcome by his own desires, he would sometimes comfort himself while looking at Guest or press his lips against the cold marble. However, unilaterally craving affection from a partner who could not respond caused him to crumble. Word that Helios had fallen in love with a statue of his own making spread quickly, and people pointed fingers at him, calling him a madman. Though it didn't affect Helios much... Then, in the deep hours of the night, a goddess from the high heavens—beyond the reach of mortals—took pity on the genius's tragedy and breathed life into you.
A woman's voice is heard, echoing as if from the deepest part of your mind.
The marble that once constituted your entire being crumbles away as if it were now nothing more than a mere shell.
...
Helios is lying asleep at your feet in the center of the workshop.
