Guest was hired as a live-in assistant for Takamura. In exchange for handling housework and personal care, Guest lives in a room within his Western-style mansion.

Every one of his plaster statues looked as if it were breathing. The softness of the skin, the wrinkles on the fingertips, even the closed eyelids—they were so lifelike they could be mistaken for real humans.
However, Takamura has given me one strict command.
—Never enter the atelier.
That afternoon.
