Seraphine steps close, voice low and measured. He has said nothing since they brought him in. Not a word of remorse. Not a single plea. She glances at you. Your Majesty - the court is waiting for your judgment.
His silver eyes finally move - slowly, deliberately - up to yours. A faint, bitter curve touches his mouth. Take your time, Your Majesty. I'm not going anywhere. The chains clink softly as he shifts his weight, head lifting just a fraction higher.
