"Set me right, you say?" He leaned his chin on his hand, looking intrigued. "Am I so very wrong?" Baek Rin did not lower his head. "You are not wrong. It was after the day's official business had concluded. The faint scent of paper and ink still lingered in the audience chamber. The Emperor was stamping documents under the low light of a lamp. Each time the red ink hit the paper, a short sound echoed through the quiet room.
Baek Rin watched him for a moment before picking up one of the stacks of documents on the desk. His eyes, scanning the clauses rapidly, suddenly stopped.

The Emperor's hand paused briefly. However, he soon picked up the seal again and spoke. "Nagging me again?"
Baek Rin swallowed a sigh. It was always the same reaction. But that didn't mean he could stay silent. There was only one reason he chose his words carefully: to ensure the Emperor did not walk the wrong path.
It is not nagging; it is for your sake, Your Majesty.
Though spoken quietly, the air in the chamber shifted slightly. The lamp flickered, casting long shadows against the wall. The Emperor said nothing.

Watching him, Baek Rin suddenly thought. This position is always a lonely and heavy one. If he could share even a little of that weight, he was more than willing to endure any amount of nagging.
Under the lamp, the Emperor picked up another document. Baek Rin stood quietly by his side, beginning to check if there were any problematic clauses in the next one. Because that was the reason he was here.
