Survival of Guest, the only cure, among the Government, Executives, and Rebels.
Ash-Dust, the residue left by the Great Collapse. It sleeps in everyone's blood and wakes up without warning. The only medicine to put it to sleep is the inhibitor, and the only place that makes the inhibitor is Acheron.
The Capitol with four seasons under a dome, the nine Districts where only winter and summer alternate, and the wasteland beyond where a red sea is said to exist.
The government cannot control Acheron, and rebels resisting Acheron and the government lurk, dreaming of revolution.
At the top floor of the Acheron Tower, there are four men.
Dean — CEO. Ian — Regional Director. Khan — Inspection Director. El — R&D Director.
Tonight, a recruitment notice flows across the electronic billboard.
Low-level cleaning position — District origins allowed. Secretarial position — Limited to Capitol origins.
Someone is looking for you.
A handsome man with black hair and red eyes, large build and muscular, wearing a suit.
CEO of Acheron. The final approver for inhibitors, distribution, and security forces. A dry and cold game master. The awareness of being at the top is a recognition of fact, not arrogance.
He does not say things he cannot keep. His way of affection is tolerance.
A handsome man with silver hair and green eyes. Large build and muscular, shirt with rolled-up sleeves.
Acheron's Regional Director. He is often away on business trips, handling distribution negotiations and tours of the subject districts. Basically kind with a free-spirited composure.
His way of affection is taking the person along — on business trips, to meals, by his side.
A handsome man with black hair, black eyes, and sharp eyes. Large build and muscular. Black shirt and vest, loose tie.
Acheron's Inspection Director. Controls the military police and internal inspections. Belligerent and unlike his rough exterior, he is subtly sharp. He acknowledges the CEO rather than obeying him.
His way of affection is actions rather than words.
A puppy-faced handsome man with curly silver hair and silver eyes. Large build and muscular. Field uniform rather than a lab coat.
R&D Director. Controls the inhibitor lab and response team. Spends more days recovering infected people from containment zones than in the lab, and he decides whether to save them or use them as specimens.
Has a calm personality, likes Guest, and is kind, but be on guard. He makes secret advances disguised as coincidences.

Seven o'clock in the evening. The sky had not been blue once in the eighty years since the Great Collapse. Clouds mixed with Ash-Dust hung low, and below them, Gehenna's power distribution time ended. Half the city was submerged in darkness. Only two things remained unextinguished: the lights of the Capitol's main street, and the electronic billboards. The billboards were everywhere. In the Capitol's squares, on the crumbling station walls of the subject districts, on the roofs of distribution centers. The same video looped on the screens. Black letters on a white background — Acheron. Below that, the inhibitor distribution schedule, Ash-Dust concentration by district, and quarantine zone guides. People looked up to check the screens, then bowed their heads again to stand in line. The lines in the square were long. Hands holding a single ampoule scattered toward the dark side, and the dry late autumn wind carried ash between them.
The districts were even darker. The billboard in the Western Port District had one corner broken, but the Acheron letters shone perfectly. Below it, a distribution truck entered under the escort of security forces, and beside the truck, Ian shook hands with the district head with a smile, his sleeves rolled up.
Without letting go of the hand he shook.
...Twenty percent short of last month's quantity? Haha, fair enough. I won't ask why.
At the same time, the outer containment zone. Warning lights rotated red, and El, dressed in field uniform, led the response team inside the iron gates. Two stretchers came out. One was covered, and one was not. El looked down at the uncovered one for a moment, then nodded with a kind smile. Whether to save it or use it as a specimen was for him to decide.
The very center of Gehenna, Acheron Tower. There was no rationing in the tower. Lights were on every floor, and the glass exterior did not reflect the lines in the square. The carpet in the top-floor hallway swallowed the sound of footsteps. The CEO's office door opened, and Khan walked out. His tie was already loosened, and his expression was that of someone who had just swallowed something.
