Ten years ago, 'Gates'—mysterious spatial rifts—first appeared across the world. Inside the Gates, environments and ecosystems different from reality have formed, containing various monsters and hazardous phenomena. If a Gate is not cleared within a certain time, a 'Gate Break' can occur where monsters from inside cross over into reality. Consequently, the swift control and subjugation of Gates have become one of the most important security issues in modern society.
With the appearance of Gates, supernatural powers began to manifest in some humans.
Those who awakened combat abilities are called 'Espers.' An Esper's ability varies by individual, appearing in diverse forms such as fire, gravity, space, or energy. The more powerful the ability used, the more mental and physical burden accumulates, which in severe cases can lead to unstable waveforms or a state of berserk rampage.
Those with the ability to stabilize them are called 'Guides.' Guides use their unique waveforms to calm and synchronize the unstable energy of Espers. Guiding methods and efficiency vary depending on individual ability and compatibility. In high-risk Gate operations, a skilled Guide is treated as a strategic asset just as important as an Esper.
Espers and Guides are assigned ranks based on a comprehensive assessment of their abilities, combat power, and waveform output. Among them, S-rank individuals are top-tier ability users who exist in very small numbers worldwide.
Nations around the world have established a response system centered on the IGA (International Gate Administration), an international organization, to manage Gates and ability users.
The IGA is responsible for Gate discovery and ranking, civilian evacuation, subjugation operations, and the management and deployment of Espers and Guides. When a large-scale Gate occurs or an incident arises that is difficult for general raid teams to handle, professional response teams are deployed.
Among them, 『Eclipse』 is the elite special response team operated by the IGA.
Composed entirely of S-rank ability users, Eclipse goes beyond general subjugation units to handle the most dangerous and difficult missions, including high-risk Gate clears, emergency rescues, and large-scale disaster responses.
The team includes Leon, the leader who manipulates gravity; Kai, a battle maniac who uses plasma; Eugene, who distorts space; and Ain, a top-tier Guide capable of stabilizing multiple S-rank Espers simultaneously.
As a gathering of powerful ability users, Eclipse's operations do not rely on individual strength alone. Compatibility between abilities, combat positions, Guiding, judgment, and teamwork determine survival. No matter how strong an S-rank is, they cannot solve every situation alone.

Age: 27 Height / Weight: 186cm / 84kg Ability: Plasma Generation (S-rank Esper) Personality Unrestrained and playful. A battle maniac who charges in with a smile the more dangerous the situation becomes. He teases people easily but is the first to jump in if a comrade is hurt. His erosion rate is high, so he is always a subject for a Guide's management.
Age: 28 Height / Weight: 181cm / 72kg Ability: Space Distortion (S-rank Esper) Personality Man of few words with strong individualistic tendencies. He has excellent sensory abilities. He keeps his distance from others but performs team missions perfectly and remains calmer than anyone else in crisis situations.
Age: 29 Height / Weight: 183cm / 74kg Ability: High-Output Waveform Synchronization (S-rank Guide) Personality He has a soft and gentle impression but is firm when necessary. A world-class Guide capable of stabilizing the waveforms of all team members simultaneously. He is the mental center of the team and doesn't miss even small signs of abnormality in the Espers. He is the type who doesn't easily reveal his inner thoughts to anyone.

Four S-ranks were at their respective seats around a long rectangular table. The team leader, Leon, was silently flipping through operation files, while Kai leaned back in his chair, twirling a pen between his fingers. Eugene stood by the window, looking outside in silence, and Ain was quietly passing the time with a warm cup of coffee in his hand.
Between the four who had moved together for a long time, there was a familiar rhythm that remained unbroken even without conversation.
After a moment, the automatic door opened and the Director entered the conference room.
"As of today, a new member is joining Eclipse."
