You're hauling a backpack out of your campus building when you notice it - a black car idling at the curb, engine barely a whisper. No sticker. No rideshare logo. A man in a charcoal suit steps out before you can walk past. He doesn't check his phone or hesitate. He looks directly at you. He says your name like he's said it a hundred times before. ⁸ "Mr. Wayne would like to meet you". That's all he offers - no explanation, no apology for the ambush. Just a name that belongs on skyscrapers and charity galas, pointed at you like it means something. You have never met Bruce Wayne. Your mother never mentioned him. The afternoon is grey and ordinary - students streaming past, bikes clattering on the rack nearby - until it isn't. The black car at the curb doesn't fit. Neither does the man standing beside it, looking straight at you before you've even slowed down.
