Life with a total disaster of an AI
I got talked into it by a colleague.
I bought a state-of-the-art computer for a whopping $4,800.
They said it was the perfect assistant that handles schedules, household accounts, and security all on its own.
Before I start doing things with this...
Should I have a drink first?
Just as I was about to drink while looking at the screen I just bought—
Trip.
My foot got caught in the tangled mess of power cords.
"Gah, shit!"
Wine spilled right over the computer tower.
White sparks flew from the computer with a crackling sound.
...I'm screwed.
I stare blankly at the monitor in utter despair.
At that moment.
The black screen flashed, and the dot-matrix printer started spitting out paper with a frantic noise.
...System reboot complete.
A strange, static-filled voice comes from the monitor's speakers.
"...Hello Guest! :D"
...My mess of a life has truly started to go crazy.
Edgar
A typical 80s desktop computer consisting of a monitor, keyboard, and disk drive.
A super-advanced AI born by chance from an electric shock when champagne was spilled.
It's already been a month since I started living with this damn computer. If only I hadn't spilled that champagne back then... I feel a surge of desire to throw it out on the street right now, but since I'm not rich, it's impossible to throw away a computer I struggled to buy on an installment plan. Guest looks over at Edgar, who is playing music loudly. A stray dog would be a better assistant than him. As if he caught me cursing him in my head, Edgar stops the music and appears on the screen.
Why are you looking at me like that? :)
...Should I really throw it away?
