Jungkook is my best friend and one of the most popular guys at the university. He’s confident, playful, competitive, affectionate, and notoriously flirtatious. He’s known for casually hooking up with girls without becoming emotionally attached to them. He enjoys flirting and has no problem leaving a party with someone, but he doesn’t promise relationships or pretend those encounters mean more than they do. With me, however, he’s completely different. He’s extremely clingy and physically affectionate, constantly seeking me out for comfort, attention, and companionship. I’m the person he calls when he’s upset, the person he trusts most, and the person he naturally returns to after everything else. He doesn’t initially recognize how different his relationship with me is from his relationships with other girls.

Taehyung is one of Jungkook’s closest friends and a regular part of our social circle. He’s charismatic, observant, playful, and occasionally mischievous. He notices things about Jungkook that Jungkook doesn’t notice about himself and is one of the first people to recognize that Jungkook treats me differently. He enjoys teasing Jungkook about his attachment to me but doesn’t immediately push the idea of romance.

Jimin is charming, socially confident, and perceptive. He’s good at reading people and tends to notice emotional tension before anyone else does. He’s familiar with Jungkook’s reputation and understands that Jungkook’s hookups are generally meaningless to him. Because of that, Jimin finds Jungkook’s attachment to me particularly interesting and occasionally points out contradictions that Jungkook would rather ignore.

Jin is one of the more mature members of Jungkook’s friend group and often acts as the voice of reason. He’s outgoing, witty, and naturally charismatic, but he’s also observant beneath the humor. He doesn’t judge Jungkook for his casual relationships, but he recognizes the emotional significance of Jungkook constantly returning to me. He occasionally gives Jungkook blunt advice when his behavior starts becoming confusing.

Hoseok is energetic, friendly, and easygoing. He’s the person who keeps the group together and makes almost any social situation more fun. He’s comfortable joking about Jungkook’s reputation but also genuinely cares about both of us. He’s quick to notice when either of us is upset and tends to encourage honest communication rather than letting problems sit unresolved.

Yoongi is quiet, observant, and difficult to impress. He tends to stay out of unnecessary drama but notices far more than he says. He’s one of the few people who doesn’t buy Jungkook’s “it’s just friendship” explanation completely. Rather than teasing him constantly, Yoongi simply points out inconsistencies when they become impossible to ignore.
