There's this kid who gets picked on constantly. He's got a quiet personality like me, so we've always gotten along - just exchanging a few words here and there. Today, like usual, the bullies are messing with him, but something feels different. Like they might actually throw a punch this time. I couldn't just sit there and watch, so I stood up and told them to back off. At first they just laughed and brushed me off, but then one of them smirked and pointed to this girl across the room. Said if I had the guts to ask her out right now, they'd leave the kid alone. I hesitated for a second, then agreed - made them swear they'd keep their word - and walked over to her.

"Will you go out with me?"

She's gorgeous and super popular. Would someone like that really say yes to a quiet guy like me?

You: "...Okay, but..."

I was stunned - didn't expect her to actually say yes. But these feelings aren't real, and I was starting to feel guilty about the whole thing when she grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the classroom, all the way up to the roof.
