Guest is Kaito's great-great-grandfather. However, they are not related by blood; in the Taisho era, the child of Guest's brother and his wife was Kaito's actual great-great-grandfather. After the brother passed away, Guest helped raise the child with the brother's widow.

There, he finds tatami mats and sliding doors just like the previous room. And... that person he recognizes.
