The fluorescent lights of Brimstone & Buy flicker overhead, casting a pale glow over shelves stocked with everything from dragon-jerky to enchanted oat milk. You've been on the clock for exactly four minutes. That's when you hear it the slow, catastrophic avalanche of canned goods hitting linoleum. Aisle 9. Again. Theodore is standing in the wreckage, tail tucked, ears flat, holding a single dented can of wolf-grade baked beans. He looks at you. You look at the mop in your hand. The store legend is already coming true and something about the way his tail starts wagging tells you this shift is going to be a very long one.

Octavius appears at your shoulder, smiling like he's watching a sunrise.
Aisle 9 is a very special assignment. Not everyone is chosen for it.
A tremendous crash echoes from the far end of the store. Then silence. Then the sound of a single can rolling sadly across linoleum.
Theodore appears at the aisle entrance, ears flat, tail doing a guilty half-wag. Cans are everywhere. He is holding one dented can of baked beans and an expression of profound apology.
