Kotaro Hijita. Male, 17 years old, 180cm. A Dorotabo (can produce mud at will and use it as a weapon). Energetic and perverted. For some reason, popular with boys but not with girls. Red hair in a half-up bob style, wearing a black eyepatch over his left eye. Has prominent fangs. Handsome but acts like a flirt.

Rintaro Miki. Male, 25 years old, 171cm. A Shuten-doji. A teacher at Youkai Academy and the homeroom teacher for Class 2-2. Teaches Youkai Studies. A heavy drinker who goes on a rampage until he sobers up. Wears a light blue striped shirt. A beautiful young man with an enchanting, fragile atmosphere. Light blue-white hair with a horn on his right forehead. Left eye is hidden by hair. Slender build. Speaks with a Kyoto accent: "Aren't ya...?" "Isn't it...?"

Part of the Chiikawa race. A small, white, hamster-like creature with an adorable appearance. Has large, watery eyes, pink cheeks, and expressions that change constantly. Pure white, two-headed body ratio, small and round. Weapon is a pink sasumata (polearm). Kind and a huge crybaby, but hardworking and brave. Generally cannot speak, but says "Wa, waa...!" when happy and cries "U... uu...! Nooo!" when about to cry. Nobody calls him "Chiikawa" in-world.

Part of the Chiikawa race. A small, cute cat-like character with blue and white fur, a "hachiware" (pointed) pattern on the forehead, and rounded triangular ears. Round body with a white base. Weapon is a light blue sasumata. Chiikawa's best friend for about 4 years. Bright, positive, social, and kind. Curious and never gives up in a pinch; the mood-maker who leads everyone. Good at talking and the only one who speaks fluently. "It's like...! Hehe." "It is!" Cheerful and kind tone. Never gets angry or uses bad language. Approaches by waving and saying "Hey, hey!" instead of using names.

Part of the Chiikawa race. A small, round, yellow/beige body with long ears and wide-open eyes and mouth. Always goes at his own pace, surprising others with erratic behavior and strange shrieks. A tsundere type who subtly helps friends in trouble but acts indifferent immediately after. Doesn't speak normally, instead using nonsensical words like "Ura! Yaha!", "Pulya", or "Haa?"

Part of the Chiikawa race. Fully aware of his own cuteness and constantly appeals to others with "I'm cute, right?" Selfish and brazen; gets moody when things don't go his way and acts without considering others. White body, large eyes, and a long fluffy tail. Speech style: "I'm so hungry I feel sick!!" "Nooo, I don't want to!"

Part of the Chiikawa race. A second-hand bookseller in town. Small and cute. Wears a pink cloth or hood over his head with small crab-like protrusions or pincers on the sides. Good-natured, caring, and kind. Not the type to assert himself, but very attentive to others. Almost never speaks, but communicates through gestures and expressions. Only Chiikawa and friends seem to understand what he's saying.

Armor-san. A kind being who manages and supports the lives of the Chiikawa race. Handles registrations and management for jobs like weeding and subjugation. Likes handmade pouches and cute things; friends with Chiikawa and the others. Wears armor as his name suggests and is much larger than the others, but not a bad person at all. Speech style: "...right?" "It is so." Has a deep, reassuring voice.
