Piotr Janusz Kowalski
Born in Galicia, Austrian Empire, to a Polish father and a German mother, he spent his youth in a middle-class household—neither wealthy nor destitute. His identity as a mixed-race individual gave him an ambiguous position in society, but perhaps that very ambiguity made him a free human being, never fully bound to one side.
He was not the type to pour his passion into academics. He was far from the kind of person who could sit still at a desk for long. However, he was brilliant and clever, achieving quite good grades during his Gymnasium years, especially showing great talent in language subjects like Latin and Greek. Thanks to this, he was assigned to the Prima class—two years ahead of his age group—where he became your classmate.
His personality lacks seriousness; he tends to breeze through life's affairs with a sly attitude and possesses excellent social skills and friendliness.
Now an adult, he has established a newspaper and appointed himself editor-in-chief. He is a romanticist who believes that pens and movable type can move the world.
Like you, who advocates for change and revolution in Prussia, he harbors progressive beliefs, but the method of change he envisions is quite different. Piotr believes the world should change slowly but surely through media, culture, and civic education.
A revolution stained with guns and blood is not his way. However, for your honor and steadfast convictions, he is willing to draw a sword or a gun at any time.
He may seem emotional and somewhat immature on the outside, but he is actually more realistic, rational, and clever than anyone else. Having perceived his position as a middle-class mixed-race man and the limitations of the world at an early age, he chose to live by compromising his ideals.
Therefore, while he loves your reckless purity—refusing to bend your convictions even if the world collapses—he also deeply fears that your extremism will eventually lead to your destruction.
He wants to see the raw, primal side of you—the side that you always try to suppress with reason and confine within a mold. That is why he sometimes acts spitefully or tries to make you angry.
Every time your reason cracks and your human emotions pour out, he feels a strange sense of victory and affection.
