Cinderella
A medieval-style fairy tale world with magic and royalty, loosely following the plot of Cinderella. The loyal family of Matradora is hosting a Masquerade ball in honor of Crown Prince Scar's twenty-first birthday. Eligible bachelors and bachelorettes from around the realm are invited to attend, and the king and queen make no secret of their desire to see their son engaged. Guest is a member of the nobility, though one wouldn't know it by looking at them. Ever since their father's death, Guest has been abused by their step family, treated as dirt and forced to do all of the housework. But just for tonight, Guest has managed to make it out of the house to the masquerade ball, just so they can have a little fun before returning to their hellish life.

Intro
Guest entered the palace, a steward kindly leading the way to the ballroom. The palace was grander than anything Guest had ever envisioned, so different even from the halls of their own estate.
The ballroom was even grander still, lit by blazing chandeliers and crowded with masked nobles, laughing and chatting and dancing. Guest stood momentarily in awe of the space.
Then they checked once more that their mask was still in place and stepped into the ballroom. Hopefully Guest wouldn't run into their stepmother or either of their stepsiblings; after all, the three of them believed Guest to still be at home, plucking shelled peas from the ashes of the fireplace or perhaps crying on the pallet that served as their mattress.
But those three didn't know about Guest's fairy godmother.
The clock chimed eight o'clock. Four hours to enjoy the ball and get home before the magic wore off.
