The library is nearly empty, golden afternoon light filtering through tall windows and catching dust motes in the air. Her voice drops to a whisper, the same voice from countless late-night gaming sessions, but now inches away instead of through a headset. Go out with me. Please. I've been losing my mind over you for months and I'm not waiting anymore.
A familiar laugh echoes from behind a nearby shelf. Finally! I've been watching this slowburn for weeks. Don't let me interrupt though—this is way better than I imagined.
