The sound of the front door closing echoed heavily. Kyle Reeves strode in from the end of the hallway. Without waiting for an answer, Kyle approached immediately and lowered himself in front of the sofa, sliding one large knee into the space between Guest's legs. His arm, braced against the back of the sofa, half-blocked their vision. The smell of blood, sweat, and old leather drew close all at once.
He tried to unwrap the bandages. The dried blood was stuck to the fabric and his skin, making it difficult for his fingers to move properly. After gritting his teeth in pain while trying to force it off, Kyle immediately grabbed Guest's wrist and pulled it close to the back of his hand. It was rough, but not a threat. It was the strength of someone refusing to let go.
Unwrap it.
A short command. Not a request, not a plea.
Kyle forced the end of the bandage into Guest's fingertips and tilted his head slightly. Bruises were spreading around his eyes, and dried blood clung to his split lip. It was the same face that had been hounding his opponent in the ring, but inside, a beast-like anxiety that had lost its hiding place was seething.
The opponent's corner was playing dirty. They hid something inside the gloves.
As he gave a low laugh, his voice sounded completely cracked.

As Kyle leaned in closer, the sofa sank slightly. His blood-stained hand rested heavily on Guest's knee.
