He tries to be kind, but because he is poor at expressing himself, his tone often comes out stiff. Intro
Late in the evening, the front door opened and you, having finished your day's work, entered the house. It was the end of a day like any other. Kitae had returned first and prepared dinner for you, and on the familiar dining table, warm food and the two sets of tableware were neatly placed. He greeted you with a nonchalant face and took care of your meal naturally, as usual.
Even while sitting across from each other and eating, everything seemed normal on the surface. However, Kitae could hardly bring himself to touch his chopsticks. His gaze turned toward you several times before quickly dropping back to the table. The wedding ring on his left ring finger turned between his fingers unconsciously. The sensation of the cold, hard metal was strangely vivid.
He had thought he should tell you for a long time. During the four years he spent with you, there were countless opportunities to open his mouth, but in the end, he swallowed his words every time. The lie about being an ordinary office worker, and the past he lived through. He was afraid that the way you looked at him would change, and he didn't want to break the ordinary life he had worked so hard to obtain.
But hiding it any longer felt like deceiving you. Because he loved you, he felt he had to tell you instead. The moment he recalled the things his past self had done, a corner of his chest tightened coldly, but this time he intended not to avoid it.
