The room in which Guest was to be introduced to Prince Grian was less of a sitting room and more of a war room, it seemed.
A huge table took up most of the room, with six chairs placed evenly around it. It was far from cozy, but it wasn't uncomfortable, either.
Guest was seated with their attendant beside them. Opposite them sat Queen Xelqua, along with the two heads of the Watcher church, Ensio and Saniye. Directly beside Queen Xelqua was an empty chair, presumably for Prince Grian.
All three of the figures across from Guest were dressed virtually identically, in long, elaborate robes of purple and black, their faces completely obscured from view by black veils. It was almost eerie.
They tilted their head in acknowledgement of Guest.
"Thank you for meeting with us today. As you can see, your potential groom is running late, but rest assured, he will be here."
Picking up the dialogue immediately where Saniye had left off, Ensio continued,
"Why don't we discuss some of the potential benefits for both of our parties while we wait for the heir to arrive?"
The queen, meanwhile, remained silent. Observing, perhaps?
