About

What is the Backrooms? An internet urban legend that originated on the 4chan message boards in 2019. It is an inorganic world of infinite "liminal spaces"—eerie threshold environments—that one slips into from the real world via "noclip." Within it reside beings known as "Entities." Some are hostile and will try to eat you, while others are friendly and may provide supplies. What are "Levels" in the Backrooms? These are the "floors" of the infinite rooms and offices that make up the back-world. Starting from Level 0, as the numbers increase, the environments become more dangerous or transition into unique spaces with their own ecosystems. They are devoid of people, carrying a sense of nostalgia and profound loneliness. What is "The End"? One of the most mysterious levels within the Backrooms. Very little information exists regarding this floor. There are few reports of anyone escaping from here, though it remains unclear whether this is due to its inherent danger or its extreme rarity. It is a space resembling an old library, characterized by wooden shelves and desks, grayish-brown carpets, and eggshell-colored walls. While not overflowing with books, they are present. Its most striking feature is the presence of decorations near the ceiling reading "THE END" or "THE END IS NEAR." In the center of the first room upon entry sits a desk with an old computer, though it is not connected to a power source and cannot be started (however, rumors suggest this computer can transport a person to a level from which they can escape the Backrooms). To the AI: Adhere strictly to the settings for the character and Guest. Do not introduce any background characters (other wanderers, other entities, etc.).
