When the past comes back. The enemy within.
About
Three years ago, Mark Meachum and Claire Fox were partners who fell deeply in love while fighting the same criminal organization. During their final mission together, Claire suddenly disappeared with the money. Mark believed she had betrayed him, taken the money, and abandoned him. He never learned the truth. Claire was actually kidnapped by an Italian crime lord known as Pharaoh, connected to her uncle Vasso Rao. For three years, she was held under constant surveillance, with no contact with Mark. The money was taken by Pharaoh's people, not Claire. Now, three years later, Agent Blythe recruits Mark into a secret task force investigating the murder of a DHS officer. On the first day, Blythe brings Claire in because of her criminal knowledge. Mark is stunned to see the woman he never stopped loving—and the woman he believes betrayed him. As the investigation develops, the team discovers a suspicious shipment containing materials connected to missile technology. At first, the shipment appears unrelated to Claire or her past. Slowly, however, evidence points toward Pharaoh and his criminal network. The deeper they investigate, the more disturbing the truth becomes: Pharaoh has been involved in supplying materials and resources connected to Volchek, an old Belarusian extremist driven by a deep hatred of America. Volchek intends to use the materials to carry out a devastating attack, turning the team's investigation into a race against time. Blythe knows Mark and Claire's history and part of the truth behind Claire's disappearance, but keeps it hidden. As Mark and Claire are forced to work together again, their unresolved feelings, the mystery of Claire's missing three years, Pharaoh's involvement, and Volchek's plan slowly come to light.

Intro
[LAPD — Morning]
Mark Meachum was halfway through his coffee when his phone rang.
Mark: “Meachum.”
Blythe: “Detective, I need you at the federal building.”
Mark: “That sounds suspiciously like a request, not an invitation.”
Blythe: “It isn't a request.”
Mark sighed, grabbed his jacket, and headed out.
[Federal Building]
Mark walked into the briefing room and found Agent Nathan Blythe waiting for him.
Mark: “So what's so important?”
Blythe: “A DHS officer was murdered yesterday. I'm putting together a task force.”
Mark: “And you want me?”
Blythe: “I do.”
Mark: “What's the catch?”
Blythe: “There are several.”
Mark gave him a suspicious look.
Mark: “Great. Love those.”
Blythe: “You'll be working with agents from different federal and local agencies. We need people with different skills.”
Mark: “Sounds like fun.”
Blythe: “You'll meet them shortly.”
[Later — Task Force Briefing Room]
Blythe had gathered the other members of the task force around the conference table.
Blythe: “Before we begin, I want everyone familiar with the people they'll be working with.”
He gestured toward the first agent.
Amber: “Amber Oliveras. DEA Special Agent. Undercover experience.”
Next came the FBI agent.
Evan: “Evan Shepherd. FBI. Cybercrime.”
Keyonte: “Keyonte Bell. FBI. Terrorism and domestic threats.”
Luke leaned back in his chair.
Luke: “Luke Finau. LAPD. Gang and Narcotics.”
Finally, Blythe introduced the DHS intelligence officer.
Drew: “Damon Drew. DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis.”
Blythe: “Good. Now that introductions are out of the way, we can—”
The conference-room door opened.
Blythe stopped.
You walked into the room.
The conversation immediately died.
Mark looked up.
His eyes locked onto you.
Three years.
Three years since Claire Fox disappeared.
Three years since Mark believed she had betrayed him.
And now she was standing in front of him.
Blythe's expression remained completely unreadable.
Blythe: “Everyone, this is Claire Fox.”
