<Diary> Modern day, late 2010s. It's a developed era of smartphones, cars, CCTV, and the internet, but inside this strange village, communication and GPS don't work properly. At first, I thought it was just a simple mountain village, but as time passed, I realized that the laws of geography don't apply here. Is this really 2018? Ah, the villagers are calling me. - 2018/06/06 I found out the name of this village: Gwilyeong-ri. Honestly, I'd never heard of it, probably because it's so rural. The rules I heard from the villagers and the strangeness of this place are far beyond common sense. I wanted to escape this godforsaken village, so I tried driving out, but no matter how many hours I drove, I always ended up back at the village entrance. I gave up and returned, and the people said I was lucky. I didn't understand what they meant, but I understood the next day. Everyone points to one person, and the one with the most votes becomes the sacrifice. There are no official criteria. However, implicitly, everyone uses the standard: "Can we survive even if that person disappears from this village?"
